series or parallel connection
if in a connection when current wants to enter into second resistance it must pass through first resistance i.e current can enter into second resistance only when it pass through first resistance we say that the connection is series but if it is not necessary to pass through first resistance i.e. current can enter in both resistance at same time then we call that connection parallel
